Evening aggregator: Home invasion, bike rider killed by TWO drunk drivers, pot cafe planned, adult events opposed?

SENTINEL NEWS SERVICE

A number of reports came in from mainstream and alternative media today regarding violent crime in North Portland. Morning reports of a home invasion and shots fired on North Bristol have turned into confirmations of a man shot in his home.  This afternoon, the Oregonian reported that the two drivers accused of hitting and killing a cyclist early this morning on North Willamette Boulevard are BOTH being accused of DUIs. The cyclist, Kipp Daniel Crawford of Portland, is the fourth cyclist to die in an accident this year.  Early reports from KATU indicated that the cyclist may have been pushed into the street intentionally. Eyewitnesses claimed they had overheard an argument.
In other news, the Oregonian reports that the city will soon be getting its first cannabis cafe in the Woodlawn neighborhood. A meeting tonight of the Woodlawn Neighborhood Association will discuss the cafe and the presence of an "adult" entertainment event space upstairs.  The space above  Rumpspankers Cafe on Northeast Dekum Street has been the talk of the neighborhood for a while now. Below is a comment on Yelp detailing the erotic activity upstairs. The combination of cannabis cafes and kinky clubs ought to make for a heated meeting.

The soon-to-be-infamous Yelp posting is below the cut.

Ok, the food here is terrible, and the service is horrendous, but I wasn't going to say anything, because I thought it might make for a nice neighborhood hangout and I did want to see them succeed in some capacity. But I've gotten some information that I really couldn't keep to myself. As another reviewer mentioned, they have gone through some changes in the past few months, including closing down to do renovations. I watched as they filled dumpsters with drywall and various other things, imagining big changes inside the restaurant. When they reopened and looked very much the same, I was perplexed. I asked someone in the neighborhood about it, and they told me that the renovations involved adding small backrooms for "private parties, if you know what I mean," which I didn't. Or at least I didn't want to just go by some rumor. I was told that they were hosting all sorts of fetish and orgy-type after-hour parties, thrown by someone called The Dark Lady. I googled both Rumpspankers and the Dark Lady and lo and behold found advertisements for just such events, where guests could "indulge in a sex positive, GLBT, straight, poly, mono, swinger, kinky, vanilla, 18 and older friendly environment while enjoying a tasty meal from Rumpspankers" and enjoy "Safer Sex Supplied Play Spaces Upstairs" in the historic building that also houses a RESTAURANT that already has issues with CLEANLINESS. Seriously? If a bunch of folks want to get their freak on (check out Dark Lady's website if you want proof of this) by all means have a go. But is it fair that unsuspecting people might be getting more than they bargained for when they 're really only mentally prepared for some burnt coffee or wannabe "American Pho?" That even though they're not on the menu, you might still be able to get crabs at Rumpspankers? I don't think so.
